Leila says…
With a background mainly lying within Performing Arts and Dance, most of my previous creative experience has only been within this field. After graduating from Middlesex University with a Dance Studies degree last year, I felt like I wanted to be exposed to different creative practices outside of dance, but didn’t know where to start…(especially when looking for paid jobs!)
I feel really lucky to be a part of this year’s STEP programme. Interning as a Gallery Assistant at Bow Arts; delving into visual arts which was a practice I was new to and wanted to know more about, and my second internship with Sadlers Wells; an organisation and practice which I love and am a lot more familiar with! This opportunity has allowed me to really solidify how passionate I am about dance and choreography, and the want to pursue it further in my creative career!
