My work since I was 16 has always been based around music, as it’s always been a massive interest for me. I mainly worked in radio, doing my own shows and interviewing up-and-coming artists in the music industry. Although – as time has gone on, I have felt more intrigued in the music business side. This led me to start a course at Notting Hill Academy of Music: Music Business Entrepreneurship (MBE), which in turn got me my first job in the music business side at Sony’s label Relentless Records, doing admin work. Right now I’m invested in Music Management on the side of my full-time job. It’s been great as I got my artist signed last year, and now we keep growing.
At the moment I’m on the STEP programme, which I’m extremely grateful for as it’s given me my first ongoing job in the creative industry, without having to worry about being stable financially. I wanted but wasn’t able to invest 100% because everything is so competitive, especially in working in radio. I’ve learnt it’s all about dedication, and then everything comes after. I am ever so grateful and look forward to my second internship. They’ve helped me grow and focus. I believe that after my internship, I’ll be able to start my career with all the skills and lessons I’ve learnt.
